Makeup through the ages- Swinging Sixties

Bloglovin</a>

Hey everyone, so for my 2nd makeup through the ages post I thought I would do the 60's! The makeup look I have done is mostly inspired by Twiggy and to make it more modern I also took inspiration from Lana Del Rey who always has gorgeous 60's eye makeup.
The 60's was all about the eyes! Skin, brows and lips where left pale and natural looking,so that all attention settled on eyes which were made to look insanely big.
I really like this makeup, obviously not for everyday wear, but I think it would be great for a themed party or something! I hope you like it and maybe try it out for yourselves!

Makeup products used: Bourjois healthy mix foundation (52 vanilla), Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner, Sleek au natural eye palette, 17 false lash mascara, Sleek contour kit (light), false eyelashes from H&M, Revlon matte lipstick (001 nude attitude).

Thanks for reading, I hope you can take some inspiration from this! <3

Autumn/Winter Inspirations (& my favourite new music discovery)

Hi everyone! So today I thought I would just do a quick post showing you a few of my makeup inspirations for Autumn/Winter and a bit on my new favorite music artist.

On the top left is Cara Delevingne with a 60's eye makeup look, top right is Lily Collins at the mortal instruments premiere, bottom left is Audrey Hepburn in the film Sabrina (1954) and bottom right is a look from autumn/winter catwalk 2013.

I tend to listen to the same music quite a lot of the time (you take a look at my profile you can see what music I like), so I was very happy when I discovered  Lorde. She's a 17 yr old singer-song writer from New Zealand and I absolutely love both her music and her style. I think she is really unique and different to most music around at the moment. She's had an awful lot of controversy and hate over her which I think is a bit ridiculous, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion I suppose. I personally think she's really cool and I definitely recommend that you check her out on YouTube or Spotify! Her new album is called Pure Heroin and she has been compared to the wonderful Lana Del Rey  who I also love!
Favorite Tracks: Tennis Court, Royals, Ribs and 400 luxe.

Makeup through the ages- Forties Victory Rolls

So for the next few weeks leading up to Christmas, I'm going to be doing a post each week inspired by different makeup and hair looks through the ages including, 20's, 40's, 50's,  60's and  80's. I really enjoy recreating vintage looks and I hope you enjoy looking at them and maybe it'll give you some inspiration!

Today I thought I would do the 40's! I love the victory hair rolls the women had back then, strong brows and big bold lips. Even though it was an awful time to be living in during the war and there was little supplies and money, the women still managed to look classic and flawless!
Main makeup and hair products used: John Frieda Frizz-ease flexible hold hairspray, Rimmel London exaggerate lip liner (064 Obsession) Rimmel London Kate Moss lipstick (107), Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner, Sleek eyebrow kit (dark).

I really enjoy doing this and I just absolutely love this look, I think it's really classic but also quite edgy!
What are your favorite vintage looks? Thanks for reading!

Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials

My new kitten, Oscar!
Hello all! So I thought as the first post of my new blog, I would do my Autumn/Winter Essentials because well, it's getting very cold and close to Christmas now! Winter is my favorite season because I just absolutely love the style and colors of clothes, makeup and nails that come along with it. Nothing beats big comfy jumpers and golden smokey eyes.
These are my favorite nails I've done this month and the design is called Poisoned Ivy, which is done by WAH Nails. In the colder months I usually switch to darker or more red shades of nail polish, as opposed to pale and pastel shades in Spring/Summer.
Products used: Nails Inc (Big Apple Red), Models Own nail art pen in black, Barry M topcoat and hardener.
Product used: Maybelline color show (220 knitted gold).

These are some of my favorite shades for this time of year : Essie(not sure of the name), Maybelline Color Show (652 moss, 103 marinho, 150 mauve kiss & 220 knitted gold), Barry M (346 magnetic red sparkle), Nails Inc (big red apple), Sleek (249 purplesque).

These are my favorite lip products which I've been using throughout November. When it gets colder, my lips get extremely dry, so I have to make sure I get products which aren't too drying or matte. Also for winter I love to go darker with my lip color and I've been really liking dark reds and plums.

Products: Benefit Dandelion lip gloss, MUA Power Pout color intense tint & balm (crazy in love), Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick (107), Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm,  Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner(064 obsession).

For eye makeup in winter I tend to stick with the same sort of colors as all year round, but slightly warmer and  more golden shades and of course winged eyeliner. I also think in winter you can get away with wearing a bit more eye makeup than in summer, as it won't melt of your face! I especially love the i-Divine au natural palette by Sleek, I use it almost everyday.
Products: Sleek i-Divine au natural  palette, Maybelline 24 hr color tattoo (70 metallic pomegranate), Natural collection lash definition mascara, Maybelline master precise liquid eyeliner, Maybelline expression kajal eyeliner( 38 brown), Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow stick (002 bulletproof beige).

Skin care is absolutely vital in Winter, especially if you're prone to dry skin like me. I like to use lots of cleansing and moisturizing products. I also like to use a foundation which isn't too matte, because that dries out my skin.
Products: Simple purifying cleanser, Botanics soothing eye makeup remover, Palmers coco butter, REN cleansing milk, Bourjois Paris healthy mix serum, Max Factor creme puff pressed powder, No7 blush (20 honey).
