The Modern Goth

Hey Everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today my post is called 'The Modern Goth' which I know might scare some people away, but personally it is a style that I've always found very mysterious and bold, but in a subtle way.
When I was younger I thought it would be cool to try and be a goth and me and my friend used to wear 'gothic' clothes to school . I became a bit obsessed with the character Sloan who Kat Dennings played in the film Raise your Voice, who had a very dark/gothic style...oh dear!
But this winter the 'goth' look came back and models on the catwalks wore very dark berry and plum shades of lipstick. Lace velvet fabrics have been featured a lot in designers clothes recently, along with choker necklaces with little pendant charms.
My favorite example of this look has to be Lorde, who I've mentioned before on my blog, as she's one of my favorite singers. Her style has been criticized a lot, but I think it's really gorgeous. I hope you can take some inspiration from this or perhaps it's a look you'd rather stay away from, but all the same, I think it's here to stay!
